Trump assassination attempt

There was an assassination attempt on Trump this Saturday during his political rally in Butler Pennsylvania!

Trump survived with the bullet only grazing the top of his left ear. After Trump felt the shot graze his ear, he ducked for cover with the Secret Service toppling on top of him for protection.

Once the shooter was neutralized, Trump got back up and waved his fist to invoke confidence back into the crowd. There was one casualty alongside 2 other severely injured people from the shooting. The shooter was neutralized by a special service sniper.

The gunman was on a rooftop 450 feet away from Trump. The suspect was a 20 yr old named Thomas Matthew Crooks who used an AR rifle bought by his father to carry out his assassination attempt. There are mixed reports of the suspect either being or not being in the sight of special services snipers while Trump was speaking.

President Biden said, “There is no place in America for this kind of violence — for any violence. Ever. Period. No exceptions. We can’t allow this violence to be normalized.” Many other world leaders have made similar statements in support of Trump regarding the assassination attempt.

Some insider tea: The suspected shooter was previously a part of a BlackRock advertisement. Info from several of the shooter's classmates states that he had a really rough time during high school. Classmates also said the suspect tried to join his “high school shooting club” but was rejected for being a bad shot. Are there school shooting clubs in the US? What's going on in PA?

What are people saying?: Lots of people are disturbed by the millisecond difference that could have resulted in a drastic change in history. Some believe it might have been faked to gain support. There are people pointing out the cliché “too good to be true” moments and also pointing out inconsistencies in the crowd to support their claims.

All in all, most people do believe the Secret Service did a lousy job with countless testimonies from supporters saying they were trying to inform the Secret Service beforehand of a potential threat since they saw him climbing the building to get into position.

Am I weird for thinking about this?: How is the Secret Service this bad? Why wouldn't you take the other sniper (2 snipers on one rooftop) and move them to the only other vantage point around the rally that can serve as a potential sniper's nest to actually secure the perimeter? I mean look out the layout of the environment. There is only one other building that offers a dangerous vantage point for a potential shooter in the otherwise barren field.

Alec Baldwin case dismissed

Why doesn’t stuff like this happen to Will Ferrell? God I hate that guy but ahem.

If you forgot, Alec Baldwin accidentally killed a person on the set of the movie “Rust” while filming. Alec argued he didn't know there were live rounds in his firearm when the incident occurred on set. The armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed was given the full sentence of 18 months in prison for involuntary manslaughter while Alec, on the other hand, has been fighting for his innocence for the last 3 years. Most recently the judge dismissed Baldwin's case on grounds of withheld evidence.

There were some weird politics going on. The prosecutors who withheld certain ammunition rounds that could have served as possible evidence did so because they thought Baldwin was the one at fault and he was trying to spin up the narrative to escape free. The prosecutors believed Baldwin held the gun irresponsibly and had a bully-ish ego on set that led to him not adhering to safety precautions. Baldwin's defense team on the other hand fully blames already sentenced Hannah Gutierrez and assistant director Dave Halls.

Were the prosecutors wrong here? To be honest they might have been. Prosecutors are known for doing these shenanigans on people who can't afford the expensive defense counsels that Alec Baldwin can, or when there are no cameras to put the judge under a magnifying glass, often allowing them to get away with it. Why did they do it though? Do they actually want to deliver justice? Was it an attempt to blackmail? What do you think?

What are people saying?: Lots of what I see online is people heavily siding with Alec and stating this trial never should have gone on this long in the first place. Some people are also furious with the Justice Department for withholding evidence and are requesting a sentence reevaluation for Hannah as well.

Am I weird for thinking this?: The maximum sentence was 18 months and a $5000 fine? Worst case scenario he does 18 months in prison or most likely a lot less due to New Mexico's Early release programs. It's not like Hollywood does background checks for their hires ahem Kevin Spacey and Dan Schneider ahem. He wasn't even being cancelled. So why have I been seeing this guy acting like his life is over before his very own eyes for the past 3 years? He already wasted 3 years (longer than the actual sentence) stressing about this.

Wait what 🤨?

Ellen DeGeneres Quits Hollywood

Believe it or not, Ellen has been on a tour where almost every she somehow has been finding ways to tell her audience how she was canceled for no reason. She has now recently announced she will be quitting Hollywood, and that she is done after this tour which will end sometime in August.

If you didn’t know, Ellen was being cancelled back in 2020 for fostering a toxic workplace environment for her staff. She was reported as being a mean bully to her set workers behind the scenes.

There were also allegations of racism and intimidation behind the scenes.

These allegations hurt the show's reputation and her shallow on-air apology made it further dive into a downward spiral.

At the Santa Rosa show of her tour, Ellen said a couple of things: “can be demanding and impatient and tough.”, “I am a strong woman," and “I am many things, but I am not mean.”

Whatever her justification, we sure won't be seeing her anytime soon.

What are people saying?: There is no 50/50 on this. People want her gone and they are happy she has finally announced her quitting. There is fear looming of her either coming back or becoming a 24/7 “canceling is unfair” evangelist. Personally when I saw that video of her calling out that poor audience member who was caught on camera stealing a couple of extra souvenirs during a recorded giveaway on her show, and how she was embarrassed and called out by Ellen on live television, I always knew she wouldn't have spared her staff from such treatment either.

Copa America and Euro 2024

Copa America and Euros are both major international football (soccer) tournaments for national teams but for different regions.

Spain just won its record-breaking 3rd Euro championship defeating England 2-1 in the Euro 2024 finals. The game took place in Berlin on Sunday.

The highlight of the match was Yamal Magic, a 17-year-old who has become the youngest to ever play at, score at, assist at, and win a European Championship.

Some Insider tea: there are pics of Messi 17 years ago holding Yamal Magic as a baby. There was a whole professional photoshoot. It was for a charity calendar organized by the Catalan newspaper Diario Sport in conjunction with UNICEF. Whatever that means, I just copy-pasted that lol.

On the other hand, Argentina just won the Copa America against Colombia by scoring a goal in the 112th minute of extra time.

Argentina now has the most Copa wins in history totaling 16!

There was a physical scuffle between the two teams and also a clip of Messi crying for being benched due to a swollen ankle.

Itty bitty t***ies and a bob

WARNING! video is really cringe

Yeah I know I'm not supposed to remind you of your 9-5 in this newsletter but I honestly scoured all of social media to see something else that was trending this week but this was all I could find 😭 . The recent Trump assassination attempt is all that is being talked about on social media and I already cover that on here.

This clip of a couple of women having some fun went viral for their quirky dance and the phrase “Itty bitty t***ies and a bob." I mean honestly, it's just a small business owner having some fun with her employees, but people on social platforms started mocking them and stating how this is how HR feels whenever they do layoffs.

Even though the video has nothing stating they are in an HR department whatsoever, people automatically associate them with the HR tag since it is stereotypically a female-heavy department.

This kind of ignited some serious discussions and rants coming from social media about how people feel about their HR department. How they are some evil backstabbers that try to convince you they are there for your benefit when they are actually there for the corporation. At the end of the day, it's just a job. I don't actually think HR actually feels this way whenever they lay people off.

However, HR is there for the benefit of the company just like any other job. That is 100% true. Just have this in your mind whenever you are interacting with the-zzzzzzz 😴

Zzzzzz..zzz 😮 whoa my bad, I started talking about work. I hope I don't have to report anything relating to a 9-5 again. Who honestly likes thinking about work outside of work?
