Kai Cenat beats Elden Ring DLC

WARNING! VIDEO IS LOUD

Kai Cenat, a popular Twitch streamer, played Elden Ring on stream for four straight days (99 hours) and recorded himself sleeping and waking up to the game. The stream was to celebrate Elden Ring's new DLC "Shadow of the Erdtree". This was his first Souls-like game and it took him around 6 hours to beat one of the first bosses alone in the original game. I watched almost the whole stream (excluding the parts where he slept) and it was pretty entertaining whilst ignoring the fact that he earned around $425,000 with no sponsors in 4 days playing a video game! Not pocket watching but man… I'm around the same age and I’m in college.

Regardless, the stream started to ramp up when it came time to fight the last boss Radahn. Kai spent 68 of his 99 total hours trying to beat him. At the end of the stream, Kai had a total death count of 1070 with 689 video game deaths being to Radahn only. Not verified statistics but I'm pretty sure 160–200k live people were watching him and 100-thousands of likes on Twitter updating his progress throughout the DLC.

(The news about Dr. Disrespect might have been more newsworthy but I wouldn’t want to start your Monday with that)

Trump Vs Biden 2024 Presidential debate

I watched this whole Looney Tunes debate live. The moderators were fair and unbiased in my opinion but the rule where they cut their mics after each candidate's specified time made the debate feel really boring. The interruptions and the arguments were what made the previous debates spicy but condescending remarks were still passed around including one upping each other on who is better at golf.

Although there were not as many dramatic “clip farming” moments, I feel the two candidates were able to speak their minds. Questions asked were about the Ukraine and Russia conflict, the Palestine and Israel conflict, Roe v Wade, immigration, personal health, etc.

If you want to watch it I recommend watching the first half. After that it becomes a little boring.

Celebrity/Sports News 👠

Bronny Drafted into the Lakers, LeBron stays as well.

Bronny James, who is Lebron James' son, was drafted by the Lakers on the 55th pick out of 60. Lots of drama revolving around this since his Freshman year stats at USC were not on par with NBA requirements but the weight of his last name and preconceived hype of being Lebron James' son played a huge influence from scouting to pick. Fans wanted him to mature in college since his 4.8 point average wasn't even enough for an invite. Bronny did have heart issues during his stint at USC that might have affected his performance but recently he was medically cleared for the draft.

People are accusing the NBA of nepotism, but I mean why wouldn't you bet on the son of one of the best basketball players to not have at least some of the same talent as his father? On the other hand, LeBron James has also re-upped his contract with the Lakers, rejecting a $51.4M option so it's safe to say we will see them play together.

Some Cringe that can hopefully make you shiver and wake up 👇️

Khewra Salt Mines

THIS IS NOT BAYONNE, NEW JERSEY.

Wanted to start off my first newsletter with a destination from my country Pakistan. These are the Khewra salt mines in Khewra, Punjab, Pakistan. If you ever bought “Himalayan” pink salt it probably came from here. "Himalayan" just being a marketing term. Don't know if it's ayo but I always wondered what would happen if I licked the walls? Would they be salty 💀? Nevertheless, they have a mosque down there, a mini Eiffel Tower, and a lake where you can relax under all sorts of colorful lights.

Saw a documentary when I was young saying how dense the air was down there which was ACTUALLY BENEFICIAL. Halotherapy is the inhalation of salt-laden air that reduces inflammation, clears allergens, loosens mucus, and helps with respiratory issues such as asthma.

If you didn't understand what I meant by “THIS IS NOT BAYONNE, NEW JERSEY.” Check out this funny clip its only 15 seconds 🤣 🤣

Mammoth kebabs coming soon?

Update on the preserved mammoth.

So recently the cells of the woolly mammoth's closest modern-day relative the Asian elephant's body have been reprogrammed into an embryonic state. In simpler words, they simplified its body cells to the point that they can replicate any wooly mammoth organ or physical characteristic by analyzing the genetic makeup of the preserved woolly mammoth we have right now. The goal is to replicate these characteristics into the embryos of modern-day Asian elephants to give them features that the woolly mammoth had to help these elephants survive colder climates, for example, its fur hide. If you are thinking why scientists can't use the DNA of the preserved woolly mammoth corpse it is because the DNA is too old/degraded.

It will still take years before we get anything, and it will probably be a hybrid and not a pure mammoth. Interesting question, could they do the same with humans if they can apply physical characteristics to modern Asian elephants? First thought that came to my head was what if humans could get wings? To be honest it's not too far fetched. An article I read mentions the possibility of using the cancer resistant skin cells of the Asian Elephant and transferring them to humans as well.
